.We are open for 2026 through to October . Please ensure this website is read before contact as we are a working farm  with no office. We expect that you know the prices set below and have read the REQUIRED INFORMATION & IMPORTANT INFORMATION SECTIONS . Groups of 6 or above MUST pre book  and emails are the best way to book for ALL customers- so there is confirmation and proof of your booking. As the owners we always try and fit people in without a booking but we are not obliged to (those on foot hiking in are guaranteed space). We do turn people away for various reasons ,when we are busy enough or if thery are coming in larger vans or tents-& for  other reasons on that day. This is our prerogative & should we decline by email or in person we have no time  for argument or abuse  from  a distinct minority.We do not suffer those who take us for fools.                                                                                                            The site remains a quiet and relaxed destination at all times . Especially so from 10.30 PM please adhere to this or select another site.

Getting to Chapel House Farm Campsite

You can use our postcode (CA12 5XG) to guide you here using SatNav, but like most Rural areas, our post code covers a wide area and will probably not guide you right to the campsite. (though of course, it can be useful for at least getting you to our area)

  • The Borrowdale Fell Race
    The Borrowdale Fell race, which began in 1974, is a race across the fells starting and finishing at Rosthwaite Village (approx 1 mile north of Chapel House Farm) Local runner Billy Bland holds the record for best time .

    Runners pass through Bessyboot, Esk Hause, Scafell Pike, Great Gable, Honister Pass, Dale Head and Rosthwaite. (A total of 13.1 miles)

    The race is held Annually on the first Saturday in August.
