Availability

Important information about Availability

Generally speaking, we are usually able to accomodate those who just turn up, which is great for impulse holidays! But, there are some important exceptions to this.

At busier times (Summer holidays, bank holidays etc) space may be limited and we are often full by Saturday evening. So, for Saturday arrivals it is best to ring ahead to avoid disappointment.

Alternatively, if you have just turned up on the of- chance on a Saturday in mid Summer, please come to the farm house first rather then just staking a claim.

In the main it is fine to turn up and pitch as long as you are aware that there are exceptions. We will always do our best to find you space on a bank holiday, but please bear in mind that if it is hot we may well be full by Saturday evening.

Helpful Tips

Midgies and Other Insects

At some point in June Or July there are midgies around dusk and dawn. Please bring along some repellent around these times for your own protection and to avoid an unnecessary irritant .

Local Shop
There is a small shop in the village called The Flock Inn (Rosthwaite) which is a ten minute walk away. It sells basics (eggs, milk etc) but it does not open until 10am. Other than this there are two supermarkets in Keswick and two pubs in the Village serving lunch and dinner.
(The Langstrath Inn is closed on a Monday )

50p Coins
We have plenty of 50p coins at the farmhouse, but please bring enough so as to avoid a situation where you are knocking at the farmhouse late at night. Many thanks.

Gas Cannisters
We do not sell gas canisters for cooking, and in the past it has been problematic for people to purchase them in Keswick -so please bring your own.
Otherwise Keswick has many outdoors and camping shops for most anything else you forget.

Packed Lunches
We no longer provide a packed lunch service for coast to coast walkers contrary to any C-to-C guidebook that states otherwise. Sorry for any inconvenience.
